Strong B vitamin smell

I was hoping this would just smell like lavender but all I can smell on my face is a very strong b vitamin smell. Ofc that is what niacin is but I had assumed it would be at a tolerable level. Maybe this is why it was discounted so much.

Is Niacinamide a natural or synthetic ingredient? I'm looking at trying the Lavender toner for the first time but definitely look to avoid toxins/synthetic ingredients. I know you generally do, yet ...

Hi Lisa, Great question! It starts as a bacteria (Rhodococcus rhodochrous) the same bacteria found in brewer's yeast. The niacinamide we use is vegan, gluten-free, and considered naturally derived.

Why has 100 Percent Pure started using more plastic packaging? If not for that, I would purchase this product. One of the appeals of using 100 Percent Pure, apart from the all natural ingredients, is its environmental friendly packaging.

Hi Farah, Currently, our newer products are in introductory packaging and will be switched over to the new packaging once we receive them, once they are switched over they will also undergo a price increase. Since we are an eco-friendly company and had plenty of sanitizer packaging available, we decided to up-cycle them with our new products so that we were able to release them quickly. However, we gladly accept positive and negative feedback here at 100% PURE. We will make sure to pass this along to our Product Development team.

Is this gluten free? I noticed there is grain alcohol on it. Which grain?

Hi Natasha, Great question! The Lavender Niacinamide Pore Minimizer Tonique is gluten-free. Our grain alcohol is distilled alcohol, even if it is made from a gluten-containing grain, such as wheat, rye, or barley, it is considered gluten-free. This is because if alcohol is distilled, proteins from the starting materials that provided the starch or sugar are removed in the distillation process. According to the National Institutes of Health's Celiac Disease Awareness Campaign, distilled alcohol is inherently gluten-free.

The ingredient list says “natural lavender flavor (aroma).” I was under the impression any added flavorings or scents are not healthful. All the essential oils I have are already fragrant. Why would flavoring be needed for something applied to my skin? “Natural” can mean many things and isn’t necessarily beneficial. What ingredients or chemicals make up the flavor or aroma? Thank you.

When do you apply this? Can you use it under moisturizer or is this part of a night time cleansing routine? Does it cause flushing or agitate rosacea?
